YIN YOGA
Encourages the body to open
Yin yoga is a quiet practice that encourages the body to open as each pose is held passively for several minutes. It targets the deep, dense connective tissues; tendons, ligaments and cartilage, and activates the movement of prana (life force/energy) through the core of the body. This practice is a wonderful opening experience into self discovery and awareness. Yin yoga nicely complements the more muscular “Yang” styles of yoga. A more active, dynamic, yang style of vinyasa will follow, strengthening and invigorating the body and mind. Each class will conclude with meditation. (Class may follow a Yang/Yin format depending on time of day)
HOT YOGA FLOW
Combining breath with movement
HOT YOGA FLOW is a class which flows (vinyasa) from one posture to the next. In this class you learn to flow with grace while combining breath with movement. This smooth but intense sequencing of postures is meditatively fluid and physically challenging. A typical vinyasa class includes; sun salutations, standing postures, balancing postures, twists, and inversions. Practiced in a heated room. Come find meditation in movement, and unity between mind body and spirit. Expect anything from chanting, yogic texts and upbeat music.
Healing Sounds
Gong Baths & Crystal Singing Bowls
Immersions in the healing sounds of Chakra Crystal Singing bowls and a collection of Gongs is a divine awakening-of-the-ears. The re-balance, both physically and emotionally is sublime, if somewhat out-of-body experience. Both vibrational experiences are now being incorporated into workshops held at HYL.
